Eric D. Wilkinson, the guy who pitched his Die Hard 6 script gets new movie deal

One of our most popular posts from the last few weeks was the news that an indie producer named Eric D. Wilkinson took out a full page Die Hard 6 ad to grab the attention of the upcoming film’s producers and pitch his own screenplay for a sixth film in the hit franchise. We loved Wilkinson’s ideas, and so did comic book legend Mark Millar who chipped in with his own thoughts on how things could be stripped ‘back to basics’ to create an all new, and decent Die Hard movie to end the beloved series.

Well, it looks like that ad may have paid off as Wilkinson has managed to sell an action-horror script called The Devil to Eclectic Pictures.

Writer and indie producer Wilkinson said, “I was thrilled with the response of the ad. While waiting for Willis, di Bonaventura or Wiseman to reach out, I was contacted by Conor directly who gave us the opportunity to present a handful of our high-concept projects including, The Devil, our modern take on this historic urban legend. Richard and I have developed many ideas together but this is one of my favorites. Forget what you think you know about the Jersey Devil — ours is bigger, badder, and scarier than anything you could possibly imagine.”

The Devil is an action/horror franchise-starter loosely based on a true story. During a fraternity “hell night” deep in the Pine Barrens, a group of college students discover the urban legend of a 300-year old demonic creature is all too real.

Eclectic is currently in post-production on The Late Bloomer, Kevin Pollak’s theatrical directorial debut, starring Johnny Simmons, Brittany Snow, Academy award-winner J.K. Simmons, and Maria Bello. They also have Frankenstein, directed by Bernard Rose and starring Xavier Samuel, Carrie-Ann Moss, Tony Todd and Danny Huston, which will be released in early 2016.

We wish Eric the best of luck with his new project. Now Bruce, Len… pick up the phone!
