“It’s bigger than the last one…” announces Jeff Goldblum‘s returning character David in this huge first trailer for the unanticipated, but not unexpected, return to Roland Emmerich‘s Independence Day world.
Out in the summer of 2016, Independence Day: Resurgence is set, quite literally, twenty years after the events of all those close encounters with Alien beings and now they’re back, bigger, badder and seemingly after the same thing once again. Returning to the fray is the aforementioned Goldblum alongside a bearded Bill Pullman, Vivica A. Fox, Judd Hirsch and the legend that is Brent Spiner. There’s no Will Smith but new blood includes Liam Hemsworth, Joey King and Maika Monroe.
This time those pesky extra-terrestrials have all-new weapons but surely won’t got past our super new space defences, right? Right?
Enjoy the invasion, they’re baaaack!
Independence Day: Resurgence opens in the UK on 24 June 2016 from 20th Century Fox. Will it hit the heavy Box Office heights of the original? Of course it will.
