According to trade newspaper Variety, Cate Blanchett is in talks tgo star in the third Thor movie, Thor: Ragnarok. The actress, hot on the release of new film Carol, for which she’s nominatedfor a flurry of awards, is said to be looking to play one of the female leads in the planned Marvel film, which will shoot next year.
There’s no official word from the studio as yet, but the trade has it on good authority of the casting news.
Taika Waiti will direct Chris Hemsworth in the planned sequel, alongside Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and the Tom Hiddleston as Loki. The film has a release date set for November 2017.
