The planned Rambo TV series, which we featured on the site at the tail end of last week, will not have original star Sylvester Stallone involved in any way.
Deadline caught up with the actor/ writer/ director’s reps who said that “contrary to reports, Sylvester Stallone has opted not to participate in the planned Rambo television series in any way at all”.
Stallone also pitched in and added, “I wish the others well with the project”.
The new show will apparently be called Rambo: New Blood, and will supposedly focus on the relationship between Rambo and his sone, which could be a little difficult if Stallone isn’t involved. Could the role be recast?
Rambo: New Blood is set up at EntertainmentOne and Millennium Films.
We’ll bring you more news as we get it.
