Then new issue of Entertainment Weekly is an absolute corker. The latest edition not only gives us a brand new look at Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther, as well as some cool new shots from the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, but also a revealing interview where Robert Downey Jr. talks about the latest character to join the team, Spider-Man.
Marvel have done a deal with Sony to bring their character back to Marvel Studios with an appearance in the first Marvel movie of 2016, as well as a stand-alone movie in 2017.
Here’s what Iron Man had to say.
“[Don] Cheadle and I are just going, ‘Wow, dude, look at this,’” says Downey of Tom Holland’s incarnation of Spidey “We’re now like the old guard, and our storyline carries real weight just because of our history in the [canon]. But we’re also looking around like, ‘Who thought that Falcon and Black Panther and Ant-Man and now Spider-Man…?’ I mean it’s like wow, this thing is just crazy.”
Chris Evans, who plays Captain America/ Steve Rogers, then threw a curve-ball about Holland’s appearance in the film at all.
“You never know with Marvel,” Evans said. “Sometimes they shoot things and then don’t use them.”
Well, we guess we’ll find out come next May 6th when Captain America: Civil War is released.
