Quite literally thousands of young actors are auditioning for the role of a young Han Solo in Chris Miller and Phil Lord‘s stand-alone Star Wars movie.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Disney and the film’s casting director are spreading their net far and wide to cast the movie, which will be released in 2018. “This has been the easiest movie to audition for. They are seeing everyone,” an agent said to the trade.
Big names have also gone in for auditions too, with the likes of Dave Franco, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Miles Teller, Nick Robinson, Leo Howard, Tony Oller, Chandler Riggs,Hunter Parrish, Rami Malek, Landon Liboiron, Ed Westwick, Tom Felton, Joshua Sasse, Logan Lerman, Ansel Elgort, Jack Reynor, Colton Haynes, and Max Thieriot all up for the coveted role.
The list of actors seen is said to be around the 2500 mark with any decision yet to be made. The word is that producers are wanting an actor in his late teens/ early twenties for the role made famous by Harrison Ford.
The Star Wars franchise gets reingnited in just three weeks with the big release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
