The Martian
The National Board Of Review have named their top movies of 2015 and topping off the list is none other than George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road, which took Best Film. Another big winner was Ridley Scott’s The Martian which picked up Best Director for the Brit, as well as Best Actor for Matt Damon and Best Adapted Screenplay for Drew Goddard. In terms of Best Actress, Brie Larson picked up that award for Room, while Sylvester Stallone and Jennifer Jason Leigh picked up Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Creed and The Hateful Eight respectively.
Inside Out deservedly won Best Animated Feature.
Rounding out the main awards was Quentin Tarantino for Best Original Screenplay, also for The Hateful Eight, which gets its UK premiere next week.

NBR Freedom of Expression Award: Beasts of No Nation & Mustang
The National Board of Review honors diverse members of the film community at their annual Awards Gala, which also acts as a fundraiser for student grant philanthropy. Hosted by Willie Geist, co-host of NBC’s TODAY and MSNBC’s Morning Joe, this year’s gala will take place on January 5, 2016 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.
