Barbershop 3 trailer: Ice Cube and the rest of the gang return for another cut.

Barbershop 3 trailerThe Barbershop 3 trailer has just landed. The film’s full title will be Barbershop: The Next Cut, and will be debuting in a cinema near you in 2016.

Ice Cube enjoyed a great 2015 as the subject and producer of Straight Outta Compton, but next year he will return to his comedy movie roots for a sequel to Barbershop 2 12 years after the release of the last movie.

As you can see from the Barbershop 3 trailer (below), the new film will be full of the same light-hearted humour that we’ve come to expect from this popular franchise. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man Holiday, Scary Movie 5, Soul Men) from a screenplay by Kenya Barris (the Are We There Yet? TV series) and Tracy Oliver. Barbershop: The Next Cut hits theaters in the U.S. on April 15th, 2016.

Cube, Regina Hall, Common and Nicki Minaj will star in the new movie, along with Cedric the Entertainer, Anthony Anderson, JB Smoove, Lamorne Harris, Sean Patrick Thomas, Deon Cole and rapper Tyga.

Here’s the plot.

It’s been more than 10 years since our last appointment at Calvin’s Barbershop. Calvin (Ice Cube) and his longtime crew, including Eddie (Cedric the Entertainer), are still there, but the shop has undergone some major changes. Most noticeably, our once male-dominated sanctuary is now co-ed. The ladies bring their own flavor, drama and gossip to the shop challenging the fellas at every turn. Despite the good times and camaraderie within the shop, the surrounding community has taken a turn for the worse, forcing Calvin and our crew to come together to not only save the shop, but their neighborhood.

There’s no official release date for Barbershop 3 in th UK as yet, but we’re sure we’ll be seeing this sometime next spring/ sumner. For now, kick back and check out the very first Barbershop 3 trailer below.
