The Van Helsing reboot has found a couple of new writers

Van-Helsing-movie-remake

I’ve got a very small soft spot for Stephen Sommers’ 2004 Van Helsing movie, but the monster movie failed to ignite the box-office so we have no idea why Universal are planning to reboot it. Anyway, the studio have hired Prometheus scripter Jon Spaights and The Thing remake scribe Eric Heisserer to bash out a new script for the planned movie, which will feed into the Universal Monsters Universe, which kicks off in 2017 with a new version of The Mummy. Spaights will also write that film.

Alex Kurtzman (Star Trek) and Chris Morgan (Fast and Furious series) are producing the movie for the studio.

The action will follow the character of Van Helsing, the monster hunter, who in the last movie not only hunted his foe Dracula, but Frankenstein and the Wolf Man too.

More news on the project as we get it.
