Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast in AMC’s The Walking Dead. The Hollywood Reporter says that Morgan will play the character of Negan in the season six finale before becoming a series regular in season seven.
The highly anticipated character has a penchant for violence and a baseball bat covered in barb wire named “Lucille’.”
WikiPedia has a better description of the character. Some spoilers follow the following image.
Negan is a fictional character in the comic book series The Walking Dead. He is the leader of a group of over 50 survivors in Washington, DC called the Saviors, who subjugate other communities in the area for resources in return for their protection against zombies. The character’s appearance is based on Henry Rollins.
Here are those season six spoilers. Negan is also known in the comic books as the character that kills Glenn. Avid watchers of the show were horrified during season six episode three a couple of weeks ago where Glenn, played by Steven Yuen, was seemingly killed by a horde of walkers. There has been speculation across the web in the days since that Glenn may have in fact survived. So, does the appearance of Negan almost certainly seal his fate?
Jeffrey Dean Morgan will shoot his scenes soon. He can also be seen in Jonas Cuaron’s Desierto, which just played at the 2015 London Film Festival to great acclaim.
