The British Public Vote For Their Favorite Star Wars Character

Star Wars

The British public have been out in ‘Force’ to vote for their favourite Star Wars character of all time, just weeks before the release of the new sequel Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which opens across the planet from December 17th.

Best Offers Bingo assembled 1400 members of the public and asked them their favourite Star Wars character. It isn’t surprising to see who managed to top the chart – it was none other than Harrison Ford’s character of Han Solo who will pop up in director J.J. Abrams’ upcoming movie, as well as get his own prequel spin-off in the very near future from the directors of The Lego Movie, Chris Miller and Phil Lord.

Solo managed to grab 206 votes, the huge majority, but just behind was robot C-3PO, played by Anthony Daniels in all six movies so far, with a respectable 174 votes. Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker weren’t far behind either, and came in as top villain with 155 votes. Rounding out the top five were droid R2-D2 and position number four with 142 members of the public voting for him, and the huge favourite Yoda at five with 130 votes.

Luke Skywalker, who will return for The Force Awakens, even though we haven’t seen him in any of the trailers as yet, landed just outside of the top five with just 121 votes, which is a big surprise. For those wondering where the infamous, and hugely disliked Jar Jar Binks ended up from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace – well, he did manage to get 35 votes out of the 1400, landing him the number eleven spot on the poll.

Here’s the top ten in full.

Han Solo – 206 votes
C-3PO – 174 votes
Darth Vader / Anakin Skywalker – 155 votes
R2-D2 – 142 votes
Yoda – 130 votes
