A couple of days ago we were treated to a Japanese Star Wars The Forces Awakens trailer which revealed a ton more footage from the upcoming movie, and today, Lucasfilm and Disney have delivered the first Star Wars The Force Awakens TV spot.

Lasting just 30 seconds long, but featuring more new footage, including another look at Harrison Ford’s Han Solo, the first Star Wars The Force Awakens TV spot lands just 36 days before the highly anticipated movie hits cinemas.

Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow star in Star Wars The Force Awakens, which opens in the Uk on December 17th, and across the planet from December 18th.

Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt. J.J. Abrams directs.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be set 30 years after the events of Return of the Jedi.

Featuring the new footage, the Star Wars The Force Awakens TV spot shows us more of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Adam Driver’s Kylo Ren as that very familiar voiceover from Maz Kanata, who will be played in the new film by Lupita Nyong’o. We also get a new look at Han Solo, looking very worried staring into the horizon, and Oscar Isaac’s character, Poe Dameron.

There’s still no sign of Luke Skywalker however, with Abrams and co opting to save a glimpse of our favourite Jedi until the film’s release.

Twitter actually launched the Star Wars The Force Awakens TV spot earlier today, and you can check it all out in its entirety below.
