Following the success of Asif Kapadia’s Amy Winehouse documentary Amy earlier this year, plans are afoot to bring a feature-length biopic based on the life of the British singer.
Screen Daily is reporting that Prometheus actress Noomi Rapace is in talks to play the tragic singer/ songwriter in the film, which is written by Kirsten Sheridan, who will also direct.
The film is gathering steam at the American Film Market in Los Angeles, but it is thought that producers are still negotiating on the music rights for the movie.
Winehouse tragically passed away in 2011. By the time of her death at the age of just 27, Winehouse gained critical and commercial acclaim including winning multiple Grammys.
