District 9 and Chappie director Neill Blomkamp‘s planned Alien movie is hold, according to reports. The news reaches us from Blomkamp himself, and it seems the reason may be Ridley Scott’s Prometheus 2, which is now being called Alien: Paradise Lost.
Blomkamp tweeted the following.
alien is kinda holding/ pending prometheus 2. So I shall be working on other things… as much as I love the xeno- and Lt ripley

It’s a litle disappointing as we like what we’ve seen so far from the bits of concept art that Blomkamp has released etc.
Scott starts shooting on Alien: Paradise Lost in the new year for a December 31, 2017 release.
More news on this as we get it.

If choosing between the two Aliens…hands down it’s Ridley’s.
