The Joker Empire cover unleashed; Suicide Squad special.
Empire have got themselves a bit of an exclusive on the cover of their December issue of the famous movie magazine. The Joker Empire cover issue will hit newsstands across the planet later this week with Leto as his incarnation of the famous DC villain from the upcoming movie Suicide Squad, which hits next year.
Take a look.
Let’s incarnation of the villain is not the first time a Joker Empire cover has appeared. Heath Ledger famously appeared on the front of the magazine in January 2008, just before the release of The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan’s second film in his Batman trilogy.
Leto will star in David Ayer‘s Suicide Squad movie next August alongside Will Smith, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Viola Davis, Adam Beach, Common , Ike Barinholtz, Joel Kinnaman, Margot Robbie, Jai Courtney, Scott Eastwood, Cara Delevingne, and Raymond Olubowale. The film revolves around the “Task Force X,” aka “Suicide Squad,” which was created by Robert Kanigher and Ross Andru back in 1959.
The British film mags have gone a bit DC crazy this month with rival Total Film containing a seven-page Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice special amongst their pages. We posted an article earlier on this morning with Ben Affleck talking about the first stand-alone Batman movie, a film that he may direct and where The Joker could be the main villain. Affleck’s Batman will first be seen in Batman v Superman next March, before making an appearance alongside Leto’s Joker in Sucide Squad in August. The big question is whether Leto will pop up in Dawn Of Justice? Even if it’s just an post-credits sequence?
We’ll find out on March 25, 2016 when the film hits cinemas around the world.
