The Marvel Cinematic Universe has dominated movie theatres for over half a decade now. The interwoven film universe has captivated audiences since 2008 by showcasing multi-dimensional, well-crafted and loveable characters that have gone down in film history.

Now, with over 8 Billion dollars of worldwide profit generated from 12 movies, Marvel are (understandably) moving fast to keep all their highly lucrative plates spinning. With both Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange set to be released next year alone, fans certainly have a bit to look forward to over the next few years.

Although this summer’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron was incredibly convoluted, it did set the stage for a number of things to come. One of which is the upcoming third (and presumably final) solo outing for everyone’s favourite Asgardian.

Thor: Ragnarok isn’t due for release until November 2017, but that doesn’t stop the internet from running rampant with speculation on what’s in store for the mighty Avenger. Now, a new rumour claims that Chris Hemsworth will be joined by his fellow Avenger The Incredible Hulk! Yes, it’s been confirmed: Hulk in Thor Ragnarok, with Mark Ruffalo returning to play the Jade giant for a third time (fourth if we’re counting his Iron Man 3 cameo).

If true, this would be a fantastic way of incorporating Banner and his monstrous alter-ego into Mavel’s ‘Phase 3’ proceedings. Of course, it’s expected that near-enough every character from the MCU will make some sort of appearance in Avengers Infinity War parts 1 and 2. However, fans have been chomping at the bit to discover the Hulk’s whereabouts since his ambiguous fate at the conclusion of Age Of Ultron.

Both Thor and the Hulk’s previous solo movies have failed to capture the magic of hits such as Iron Man or Guardians Of The Galaxy, so it makes perfect sense to have Hulk in Thor Ragnarok. The two are also the only Avengers absent from next Spring’s Civil War, meaning that audiences are noticeably neglected for these two fan-favourite characters. Rumour’s have also persisted that Marvel will find a way of incorporating the ‘Planet Hulk’ storyline into the film universe. While this has been denied frequently for years now, Thor: Ragnarok could provide the perfect opportunity to adapt elements of that story for the big screen.

While this should all be taken with a pinch of salt for now, the thought of Ruffalo joining the film is still incredibly tantalising! Let’s all keep our collective fingers crossed that Thor will have his fellow Avenger by his side in the final fight for Asgard.

Thor: Ragnarok will be released November 3rd 2017. So far the only confirmed cast members are Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Jaimie Alexander, but expect more concrete announcements to come sooner rather than later.
