Gugu Mbatha Raw has joined the cast of Rian Johnson‘s Star Wars Episode VIII. The Belle and Beyond The Lights actress has joined the planned sequel in the Star Wars saga, but obviously, like a lot of the castings in the films, we don;t yet know who she’ll be playing.
Benicio Del Toro has been cast as the villain in the movie, and we’re expecting many of the cast from the first new sequel, The Force Awakens, to show up in Episode VII too.
JJ Abrams is just about done with the first film in the new series, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which hits on December 17th, while Gareth Edwards is currently shooting 2016’s Star Wars: Rogue One.
Lucasfilm/ Disney will release Episode VII in May of 2017.
