The first official trailer for The Big Short is here. Based on a story from Michael Lewis, the film will surely be a contender come 2016 award season.
Starring Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Steve Carell and Brad Pitt, the film, which is based on true events, follows four men who made millions from the economic global meltdown. The film also features Karen Gillan, Selena Gomez, Marisa Tomei and Melissa Leo though the female contingent are noticeably missing from this first trailer.
As previously mentioned it all sounds like something the academy will very much enjoy, so its a little surprising to find out that Adam McKay is behind the lens. In case you don’t know who that is, he’s the guy behind Step Brothers, Talladega Nights, and Anchorman 2, not exactly movies known for their high-brow elements.
The Big Short arrives in UK cinemas on 22nd January.
