We covered a whole host of films that we thought should be remade a little while back, and amongst that exhaustive list was Road House. Our fave for the lead in any kind of Road House remake would be Jason Statham, but it looks like MGM have gone a different route for the planned film, with MMA fighter Ronda Rousey set to play the part.
The film is a go, and it looks like Rousey will star in the Patrick Swayze role in the Road House remake, which will start production in 2016. The original film followed Dalton, a bouncer hired to clean up one of the biggest hell-holes in southern America, the Double Deuce.
Rousey, who has appeared in the likes of Entourage and Furious 7 this year, made a few comments about her casting on Twitter.

MGM is currently meeting with screenwriters, with production set to begin in 2016, so reports Variety.
