Actor Patrick Dempsey is in negotiations to join the cast of Bridget Jones’s Baby, the third film in the series, based on the book by Helen Fielding.
The film is in development over at Working Title Films with Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner producing. Renee Zellweger will return for the sequel, as will Colin Firth, but it is thought that Hugh Grant will not come back for another adventure, which could explain Dempsey’s casting. Someone else that will come back however, is director Sharon Maguire, who directed the first film in the series. Maguire has adapted the novel, along with One Day writer David Nicholls.
No more news on the film other than that, but we’re expecting this one in cinemas sometime in 2016.
