Jungle Cruise movie in the works with Dwayne Johnson
Dwayne Johnson is lining up his Disney movies. Apart from lending his voice (a singing-one at that) to the studio’s forthcoming Moana movie, Johnson will also lead the cast of a big-screen adventure based on its popular Disneyland theme park ride, Jungle Cruise.
The Jungle Cruise movie will apparently be set in the past, according to TheWrap, who broke the news. John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, the duo behind Crazy, Stupid, Love and the average-to-good Will Smith and Margot Robbie movie Focus from earlier on this year, will write the script.

Jungle Cruise is an attraction seen at every Disney theme park in the world, with the exception of Disneyland Paris. Here’s the Jungle Cruise WikiPedia description:

We’re not sure as to how Johnson would fit into all of this, but his addition is a very much a positive one, although he did do a similarly themed movie called Journey 2 The Mysterious Island a few years back, which was actually pretty good. He sang in that too.
Johnson also has another Fast and Furious movie on the cards, as well as an adaptation of the Rampage video game, action-comedy Central Intelligence, a Baywatch movie and the comic-book film Shazam! Busy boy.
The studio is currently looking for a director for the big-budgeted movie, which is just one of many theme-park adaptations on the go. Another Pirates Of The Caribbean movie is due in 2017, and Ryan Gosling and Guillermo del Toro are collaborating on a Haunted Mansion movie.
