The Blunt Force Trauma trailer has just landed. The film stars Mickey Rourke, Ryan Kwanten and Freida Pinto, and has quite the interesting plot. Revolving around underground gun-fights, the movie echoes the likes of 13 Tzameti from a few years back. This film, directed by Ken Sanzel will be going straight to DVD and the VOD channels, but we thought it was worth a look.
[quote_box_center]From cockfighting rings and train yards, to basements and barns across South America, modern-day warriors put on bulletproof vests and battle one another in underground gunfights to gain riches and respect. It’s known only as “The Game” and Zorringer (Rourke) is its elusive champion. John (Kwanten) is looking for the ultimate duel with Zorringer while Colt is seeking revenge for the death of her brother. The two gunslingers travel from one shootout to another on a dangerous journey of love, violence, and clandestine battles. Blunt Force Trauma is written and directed by Ken Sanzel, of the films Lone Hero and Scar City, plus some TV work. The film goes straight to DVD and VOD in the UK starting on October 5th.[/quote_box_center]
Mickey Rourke seems to take more of a back-seat in this, which is a shame as we love a bit Rourke, but hope to see more of him that we are currently. We have high hopes for that rugby-themed movie that is currently in development where the actor will play a character named Mick ‘The Blade’ Collins. Set in Ireland, the film revolves around a homosexuality in a very macho sport, and was at one time based on the experiences of rugby player Gareth Thomas.
Blunt Force Trauma arrives on the home formats in the UK on October 5th.
