The always reliable Laura Linney is looking set to join the ever reliable Tom Hanks in Clint Eastwood‘s latest effort, Sully. Eastwood‘s follow-up to the critically acclaimed American Sniper will be another true life biopic of an American Hero, this time in the form of Captain Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, a pilot who safely landed a commercial flight in the Hudson River back in 2009 after some malicious geese with a thirst for human blood collided with the plane. Sully’s actions saved every passenger on board.
Hanks is to play the role of Sully, while Linney is intended to play the part of his wife. Aaron Eckhart will play Sully’s co-pilot. Linney has worked twice with Eastwood before, on Absolute Power and Mystic River. Linney is also keeping her career varied and interesting, having just received plaudits for Mr. Holmes and following that up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2.
Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
