Don’t Panic! The Dad’s Army trailer is here

I’m not sure how well the upcoming Dad’s Army movie will fare anywhere other than the UK, but the TV show on which it is based is absolutely loved here, and judging by the first teaser trailer for the film, which has just been released, we’re all in for a treat.

The teaser doesn’t feature much footage, but from what we can see, the cast, particularly Toby Jones as Captain Mainwaring and Michael Gambon, who is absolutely spot-on with Godfrey.

Here’s the synopsis:

Their new mission then – to patrol the Dover army base – is a great chance to revive spirits and reputation, that is until glamorous journalist Rose Winters arrives to write about their exploits, setting the pulses racing and putting the local women on red alert.  MI5 then discover a radio signal sent direct to Berlin from Walmington-on-Sea. Dad’s Army stars Bill Nighy, Catherine Zeta Jones, Toby Jones, Tom Courtenay, Blake Harrison, Danny Mays, Bill Paterson, Sarah Lancashire, Alison Steadman, Mark Gatiss, Annette Crosbie, Felicity Montagu, Julia Foster, Holli Dempsey, Oliver Tobias, and Emily Atack.
