Tom Hardy producing 100 Bullets, an adaptation of comic-book with an eye to potentially star.
Tom Hardy is teaming with New Line Cinema for an adaptation of the comic book 100 Bullets from DC Entertainment’s Vertigo comics.
Hardy will primarily produce with an eye to star in the property by Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso. Hardy will produce with partner Dean Baker through their Hardy Son & Baker production banner.
No word on plot as yet, but here’s a taster from Vertigo on the feel of the original books.
You’re sitting on the train when an old man approaches you. He’s holding a shiny attaché case, but what’s really arresting are his words. Because he seems to know everything about you—including your darkest moments. And inside that shiny attaché he just handed you? A picture of the person who murdered your beloved. With it, a gun—and a hundred rounds of untraceable bullets…
The story seems right up Hardy’s street as WikiPedia state that the comics, which ran for 100 editions, were notable for creator Brian Azzarello’s ‘realistic use of regional and local accents, as well as the frequent use of slang and oblique, metaphorical language in his characters’ dialogue.’
The script is being developed by Chris Borrelli, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
