First Star Wars Rogue One set photos surface

Star Wars Rogue One set photos reveal classic Stormtroopers over Elstree set.

Star Wars Rogue One filming already?

So it looks like the first stand-alone Star Wars movie is in-production as the first Star Wars Rogue One set photos have surfaced, and it looks like we’re going to see the return of some very familiar characters.

Yes, it looks like the old-school Stormtroopers are back with us as The Mirror have managed to score some set images that appear to have been captured by some sort of drone device over the set.

The newspaper’s website lists that the shots were taken over Elstree Studios in the UK, though it was previously suggested that the film would shoot at the popular Pinewood Studios where J.J. Abrams’ upcoming sure-fire blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and the original trilogy was filmed. We’re sure that the production will be moving over there shortly.

Gareth Edwards is directing the Lucasfilm movie, which is due for release next year. The plot will revolve around stealing the original plans for the Death Star, and the film will be set before Episode IV – A New Hope, but after the more recent sequels. Felicity Jones will head up the cast, reportedly playing one of the rebel soldiers in the film.
