Directed by Ridley Scott, no stranger to the final frontier, The Martian has been adapted from the novel by Andy Weir. Starring a high profile cast which includes Matt Damon, Kate Mara, Jessica Chastain, Sebastian Stan and Michael Pena the tale tells of Astronaut Mark Watney (Damon) who finds himself stranded on Mars. On Earth, a team from NASA furiously work to get him back whilst his shipmates devise their own dangerous rescue mission.
Science fiction and Ridley Scott tend to go hand in hand, even Prometheus is great if you forget it’s supposed ties to the alien franchise, and what we’ve seen of The Martian so far excites us. Today we can share this extra special video with you, our loyal readers. This clip gives you the chance to meet the crew of the Ares during their preparation for the mission.
The clip works effectively at hammering home which compartment each crew mate fits into. We’ve got the joker, the strong female and the charmer. Matt Damon‘s Watney raises a very valid and serious question, how can Aquaman control whales? Thoughts below folks.
The Martian will arrive in cinemas on 30th September.
