The Rugby World Cup kicks off this September, right here in England actually, and to tie in with the tournament, a new documentary from the producers of Formula 1 film Senna, will release in cinemas for one night only on September 1st. Building Jerusalem is the story of the England World Cup win in 2003.
We have the trailer for the film, which you can watch below.
It’s a sports documentary from the producer of Oscar-winning ‘Man on Wire’ and ‘Senna’, Victoria Gregory, and Emmy nominated director, James Erskine (Pantani: The Accidental Death of a Cyclist, One Night in Turin. From the Ashes) about the story of the England World Cup win in 2003. (See attached press release for release pattern information).
Starring never-before-seen exclusive interviews with Jonny Wilkinson, Sir Clive Woodward and Martin Johnson, the film is an astonishing story of pressure, expectation and courage, tracing the roots of success back to the professionalization of the game in the 90s, culminating in that glorious World Cup campaign of 2003 that turned Woodward’s poisoned chalice into a golden cup.
The film presentation on the 1st September will be accompanied by a live Q+A with England legends Jonny Wilkinson, Sir Clive Woodward and Martin Johnson.
Here’s the trailer.
Building Jerusalem will be in cinemas for one night only, 1 September. Available to download digitally from 11 September, and released on Blu-ray and DVD on 14 September.
