Sam Mendes says that SPECTRE will be his last Bond movie.
Director Sam Mendes has been quoted by the BBC as stating that his next James Bond adventure SPECTRE will be his last as director.
The film, which on Friday had its UK release and premiere set for the same day (October 26th), sees Daniel Craig play the famous spy for the fourth time with Christoph Waltz, Dave Bautista, Lea Seydoux, Ben Whishaw, Monica Bellucci, and Ralph Fiennes also appearing.
Mendes told the BBC:
“I said no to the last one and then ended up doing it, and was pilloried by all my friends,” he said. “But I do think this is probably it.
“I don’t think I could go down that road again,” he said. “You do have to put everything else on hold.”
SPECTRE is the follow-up to the brilliant Skyfall, which is not only the highest grossing Bond movie of all time, but one of the highest grossing British movies of all time, so much is expected of its sequel.
SPECTRE opens in the UK on October 26th with US audiences getting it on November 9th.
