Among the plethora of big-comic escapism movies Fort Tilden looks an unusual beast, it’s not only an original indie movie but actually appears to be genuinely funny and relevant to the younger generation with that cool cult vibe written all over it.
Written and directed by Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers, the film follows young women Allie (Clare McNulty) and Harper (Bridey Elliott), who both don’t seem to have a real idea of world outside their bubble. But when the two friends meet some guys, they invite themselves along onto a carefree Fort Tilden afternoon. As the two young women board their bikes and embark on a lengthy journey to the beach, they quickly realise that they neither know where they’re going nor how they plan to get there. Sounds good to me.
