Feast your eyes on the first ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ trailer

FtWD

Earlier today we brought you the first full-length trailer for season six of The Walking Dead. The trailer, along with every other trailer online today, was unveiled at Comic Con during yesterday’s The Walking Dead panel. The show, much like Game of Thrones goes from strength to strength and picks up more viewers each year. Capitalising on the success of the show, AMC last year commissioned a spin-off series.

The new show, which will be known as Fear the Walking Dead, will be slightly different to it’s parent. The base location will be Los Angeles, not Georgia, and the series will focus on a time when Walkers first started to roamed the land. The Walking Dead started after the ‘zombie’ apocalypse had happened a la 28 Days LaterFear the Walking Dead will fill in the gaps of those days.

The panel for the new show didn’t reveal too many secrets, obviously not wanting to spoil anything for viewers. All the panel members did emphasise however, that it will be tonally different to The Walking Dead. Want to know whether to bother watching it? Have a look at the trailer now:

Show producer Gale Ann Hurd took the opportunity to reveal the air date for the show which, for those in the US, will be 23rd August, so barely a month away. Sadly there was no news about when the UK will be able to watch it. However there was talk of a simulcast airing of episode one in several countries over the world.

Fingers crossed the show will stand well next to The Walking Dead, but either way, at least we’ll get our zombie fix a little earlier than October.
