Friday is always a big day at the San Diego Comic-Con. Traditionally proceedings end with a panel from the folks at Marvel, but not this year. This year, the Hall H stage belonged to Lucasfilm and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and Harrison Ford, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Adam Driver and director J.J. Abrams were on hand to reveal some new footage from the movie.

6500 fans in the San Diego covention centre’s biggest hall were treated to nearly four minutes of behind the scenes footage from the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and in a break from tradition, that footage has been released online.

What we see is a series of behind-the-scenes bits from the film showing off all of the practical sets and effects the filmmakers have been using, as well as some other great tidbits and Simon Pegg, who looks like he may be in the film as a character after all.

We have the fantastic behind-the-scenes look for your viewing pleasure below- and check back a little late for more Star Wars Comic Con coverage.
