New UK Fantastic Four poster is unveiled

Fantastic Four
This summer is full of Marvel superheroes, so far we’ve already seen The Avengers in The Avengers: Age of Ultron, but that isn’t the only Marvel-Verse film out this season, oh no. Next week sees Paul Rudd join the cinematic comic book world as Ant-Man (read our review now), and then in August we get to see just what Josh Trank has done with those four fantastic faces in Fantastic Four.

The film will be a reboot, which given how kitsch and over-the-top the previous two films were, is more than welcome. Taking over the mantle of the awesome quartet are Michael B JordanJamie BellMiles Teller and Kate Mara. Hopes are high that they’ll be able to eclipse the takings made by Chris EvansJessica AlbaIoan Gruffard, and Michael Chiklis, and the first trailers have showed promise.

This time around the group won’t be getting their powers from a space mission, but rather they pick them up after visiting an alternate universe. Sadly we can’t share any further footage with you today, but we have managed to get our hands on this rather snazzy new poster.

To say that Trank is trying to distance his film from the original, the poster looks mighty similar to one from the first film, swap Sue and The Thing around, and it’s pretty close. Hopefully this will be where the similarities end. Trank did an astounding job with his last stab at superheroes, well more like super villains, in Chronicle, so we’ve got some pretty high expectations for the project.

Fantastic Four opens in cinemas from 6th August.
