Michael K. Williams, star of TV series like The Wire and Boardwalk Empire, has joined the cast of the video game adaptation, Assassin’s Creed.
Michael K. Williams will face off against Michael Fassbender in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of video game Assassin’s Creed. Williams, who was reported to have joined Paul Feig‘s Ghostbusters reboot just yesterday, will reportedly play a “character [that] has a major stake in the franchise.” No other details were made available by Variety, who broke news of the casting.
Williams will join Fassbender and Marion Cotillard in the Justin Kurzel directed movie, along with actress Ariane Labed (Before Midnight). Word is that Williams will shoot Ghostbusters first, before moving on to Assassin’s Creed later in the year.
The film already has a release date set for December 21st, 2016, which puts it up against Star Wars: Rogue One, Gareth Edwards‘ first Star Wars anthology movie. Brave move.
