Ricki and the Flash new trailer: Meryl Streep takes on a whole new gig in latest film.
Meryl Streep shows audiences once again why she’s the doyenne of cinema as she rocks out in her latest film to hit cinemas this September, Ricki and the Flash.
Having given up everything, including her family, to follow her rock-and-roll dream, Ricki Rendazzo (Streep) decides to return home to make amends when she discovers her daughter Julie (played by her real life daughter Mamie Gummer) has been dumped by her husband for another woman.
Directed by Jonathan Demme (Philadelphia, Silence of the Lambs) and sharply written by Juno writer Diablo Cody, the rock trope has a strong supporting cast that includes Kevin Kline, Audra McDonald, Sebastian Stan and musician Rick Springfield as Ricki’s partner Greg.
If you haven’t heard of Ricki and the Flash yet, make sure to check out the first two trailers below as well as the film’s poster artwork.
Whilst Ricki and the Flash won’t rock out in UK cinemas until September 18, US audiences can catch it from August 7 and from August 15 in France.
