If you were a fan of Denis Villeneuve’s 2013 hit Prisoners, you are going to love his upcoming drug thriller Sicario.
Specialising in escalated drug cartel activity response, idealistic FBI agent Kate Macer (Emily Blunt) finds herself assigned by the US State Department to a taskforce commissioned to aid in the escalating war on drugs along the border area between the US and Mexico. Led by Matt (Josh Brolin), an enigmatic consultant with a questionable past, the team sets out on a clandestine journey that forces Kate to question everything she believes in in order to survive.
Written by Sons of Anarchy star Taylor Sheridan and shot by legendary cinematographer Roger Deakins, the film has a stellar supporting cast that includes Benicio Del Torro, Jon Bernthal, Victor Gerber, Jeffrey Donovan and Daniel Kaluuya.
Mexican for hitman, Sicario will have you on the edge of your seat as the lawless border teeters precariously between right and wrong.
Check out the heart-pounding trailer for yourself below before it opens in UK cinemas on September 25.
