Kick Ass 3: Hollywood director Matthew Vaughn has confirmed he’s currently making a ‘Kick Ass’ prequel.
Matthew Vaughn is working on a ‘Kick Ass‘ prequel.
The 44-year-old director – who helmed the first film in the franchise – has revealed the prequel needs to be made before ‘Kick Ass 3‘ can come to fruition.
He told Yahoo! Movies: “I’m not happily done with the franchise, for sure. ‘Kick-Ass’ was a really important film for me, I’m really proud of it.
“We would like to dip our toe back into it. When I say ‘we’, Mark [Millar] and I and the team
“We’re working on an idea for a prequel of how did Hit-Girl and Big Daddy become Hit-Girl and Big Daddy. It’s quite a fun idea we’ve come up with.”
As well as taking on the ‘Kick Ass’ project, Matthew has also been linked with directing the latest adaptation of ‘Flash Gordon‘.
20th Century Fox is currently developing a revival of the well-loved sci-fi hero and is apparently keen to see Matthew, who recently helmed ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service‘, lead the movie.
The revival of the character based on the 1930’s comic book star is being penned by John D Payne and Patrick McKay.
