Another no show for ‘The Crow’ – Jack Huston departs

Jack HustonHaving already lost original lead Luke Evans, it looked like Relativity’s reboot of undead rock star saga The Crow was back on track when Jack Huston signed up to star.

Unfortunately the bandwagon has hit another pothole, with Huston now opting to hang up his leathers. The in-demand actor (soon to be seen in Ben-Hur) reportedly flew the nest due to scheduling conflicts. Evans went when the production dragged its heels too long to keep him aboard.

The plot follows Eric Draven, who swaps stage antics for bloody vengeance when he’s brought back from beyond the grave to avenge the slaughter of himself and his beloved. Beleaguered director Corin Hardy is no doubt feeling anxious, but spoke to the press in confident mood:

He’s certainly got a decent supporting cast lined up, with Andrea Riseborough in the frame for villain Top Dollar and Forest Whitaker in talks over a role.

As for the title character, well, Nicholas Hoult and Jack O’Connell are two of the names that have been mentioned so far. Whoever it is, they’ll be heading to Wales for the much-anticipated resurrection of James O’Barr‘s comic book creation.
