Halloween Returns, a new movie in the famous Halloween series of horror films, is planned with Michael Myers set to return.
A new film in the famous Halloween series is being planned, and will be a new stand-alone movie in the series which will introduce a new audience to Michael Myers. Moviehole.net report the news of the movie, which is currently in the casting stage.
The site has more information around the film’s plot:
[quote_box_center]“Halloween Returns” will pit a new group of Haddonfield youngsters against Myers. The now 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter.
Myers is now on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.[/quote_box_center]
Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan, the guys behind some of the Saw sequels and Pacific Rim have written the screenplay for the news film, and according to Bloody Disgusting, Dunstan is also set to to step behind the camera to direct. His previous features include The Collector and The Collection. The site adds that it is still trying to confirm his offer officially.
Halloween Returns will be released through genre banner Dimension Films.
