Surprise appearance for Will Ferrell & Kristen Wiig’s ‘A Deadly Adoption’!

It’s the project of a Lifetime for Will Ferrell – quite literally, as it turns out A Deadly Adoption is going ahead at the channel of the same name. In fact it’s gone ahead and is about to air!

Perhaps not wanting to spoil the surprise of a move that could be seen as a curveball even by his own standards, Ferrell told press the film – co-starring Kristen Wiig – was off after details leaked. The comedy star has played his cards close to his chest, with passers-by on Hollywood Boulevard being greeting by the following poster:

The two hour production, apparently a drama but one that has its tongue firmly in its cheek, follows Ferrell and Wiig as a couple who take in a pregnant Jessica Lowndes in the hope of adopting her unborn baby. Lifetime are renowned for their TV movies and Ferrell’s loving tribute arrives during their twenty-fifth anniversary celebrations.

The “thriller” is written by Andrew Steele, who also penned Ferrell & Wiig’s overheated soap spoof The Spoils Of Babylon. It’s produced under the comedy legend’s Gary Sanchez banner, in association with Mar Vista Entertainment and National Picture Show. Rachel Lee Goldenberg directs.

A Deadly Adoption hits Lifetime on June 20th. Will the broadcaster ever be the same again…?
