Clint Eastwood has revealed his next project. The filmmaker, who struck gold with the huge critical and commercial success of American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper, will next direct the biopic Sully, based on the story of American pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger, who managed to safely land a passenger plane on the Hudson River in New York City, saving the lives of everyone on board.
Frank Marshall is set to produce the film with Eastwood in the director’s chair for the 38th time.
The film will be based on the book by Chelsey Sullenberg and Jeffrey Zaslow. The trade paper Variety reports that the story ‘takes a closer look at the man who became a national hero after his plane began to malfunction shortly after takeoff and he was forced to take drastic measures in order to save all those on the plane.’
