New comedy, MICRONATIONS will see Jack Black and Jared Hess teaming up again for the first time since 2006’s NACHO LIBRE.
The project follows a number of backyard nations in America, where Black is recruited as Head of Defence by the nation of Valoria (population: 12), ready to wage battle with the miniature state of Wayne County.
It’s clearly got lots of comic potential. Who doesn’t have some crackpot neighbours?
Buffalo Film Company, Electric Dynamite (owned by Black) and Damon Ross are producing. Buffalo is Hess’ new film company, which he co-runs with Brandt Andersen and Dave Hunter. New Girl writers, Snow and Magalhaes are penning the script.
In the meantime, Hess’ MASTERMINDS is opening this August, while he’s also been attached to new Disney project, OVERNIGHT ON 42ND STREET.
Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
