The third movie in the PLANET OF THE APES prequel series has been given an official title. The film will be known as WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and will hit cinemas in the summer of 2017.
Matt Reeves (CLOVERFIELD, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES) will direct as well as co-write the screenplay. The film will continue the franchise and follow the events of the second movie, DAWN OF THE PLANET OF THE APES (also directed by Reeves) which lead into war with the humans, led by Andy Serkis’ character, Caesar.
WAR OF THE PLANET OF THE APES has a release date set for July 14, 2017. Mark Bomback will assist on writing duties as he did with ‘Dawn.’
