Dianna Agron thinks Hollywood is “hugely sexist” and the pay gap between men and women is getting “worse”.

The former ‘Glee’ star has attacked the film industry’s pay rates and insists the discrepancy is prevalent across every job in the business.

She said: “Women are not paid anywhere near the same (as men) at all, and it’s only getting worse. And just to be heard – so many times you see it with a female director, there’s sometimes resistance from the male crew … It’s not just for actors, it’s for hair and make-up and stylists and everything. Nobody wants to pay anybody any more.”

The 29-year-old star – who is currently making her stage debut in ‘McQueen’, based on the life of late fashion designer Alexander McQueen, on London’s West End – claims they are always an abundance of excuses made as to why actresses don’t earn as much as their male co-stars.

In an interview with The Daily Telegraph newspaper, she moaned: “You’ll be told, ‘Well, we don’t have the budget … And you’re lucky you’re getting the exposure. You’re lucky to be working with these people…’ And that ball keeps rolling. So 10 years down the line you’re like, ‘Am I still lucky to be working with these people?’ ”

Dianna believes the pay inequality continues as the norm because of a fear of speaking out among her peers.

She mused: “And yet if you talk about this in depth, you’ll see studio heads lash out and say, ‘No it’s not that way.’ But it is.”
