Long Awaited ‘X-Files’ Revival Gets Its Air Date

The long awaited return of Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully has finally got its confirmed air date – the six-part series will hit our screens on 24th January 2016.

Commencing with the first two episodes showing on 24th January and 25th January consecutively, the show will then ease back into a weekly slot for the remaining 4 episodes.

For those who were living under a rock (or, more likely, yet to be born) during the early nineties, the X-Files was a seminal show that saw our favourite spooky odd couple – supposed crack-pot conspiracist Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) and straight-laced Dana Scully (played by Gillian Anderson) – investigating paranormal cases of abduction, hauntings, freakish sightings and more, whilst a simmering sub-text of sexual chemistry had viewers glued for every ‘will they, won’t they’ moment.

This new six-part revival sees the hugely anticipated return of the show after an agonising 13 year hiatus, and reunites the dynamic duo once again after 2008s disastrous big screen effort X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE. Returning alongside Duchovny and Anderson will be series favourites Mitch Pileggi and William B. Davis, as cyncial FBI head honcho Walter Skinner and the ominous fan-favourite ‘Cancer Man’ respectively, to round off the cast for what should be the perfect swan song for our favourite pair of paranormal investigators (with the exception of Scooby and Shaggy, obviously).

The X-Files returns to screens in January 2016.
