Ardent followers of the View Askewniverse were given a tasty tit bit from geek god Kevin Smith today, when the writer / director / all-round bad-ass took to twitter to reveal the official name of the upcoming MALLRATS sequel – MALLBRATS
20 years in the making. 113 pages fulla old friends & new jokes. This is for you, Jim. Wish you were here. #MallBrats pic.twitter.com/O6HfIWbRY6

The tweet makes a touching reference to Jim Jacks, a producer on the original film that was lobbying for a sequel right up until his untimely death last year, and showcases the front cover of a script that most movie fans would chop off their right hands to get hold of. Smith has already teased the return of original cast members Jason Lee, Michael Rooker, Shannon Doherty, and of course, himself, as well as six new characters that, for now, appear to be staying strictly under wraps.
The movie looks set to begin filming later this year for a tentative 2016 release, and with an upcoming slate that includes the comedy YOGA HOSERS and a third film to round off his CLERKS trilogy, it looks like a good time to be a follower of all things View Askew.
What do you think of the title for the MALLRATS sequel? Any better suggestions? Sound off in the comments below!
