She’s been getting good reviews for her lead performance in immortal romance weepy THE AGE OF ADALINE. And now it seems Blake Lively’s movie career is really taking off, with news she’s signed up for Woody Allen’s latest offering.
Untitled, as Allen projects usually are, the film sees the former Gossip Girl star appear alongside Kristen Stewart, Jesse Eisenberg and Bruce Willis in an as-yet-undisclosed plotline. Though the director’s output can vary in tone, he’s predominantly known for comedy. Heavier fare has been avoided in recent years – light confections such as MIDNIGHT IN PARIS and MAGIC IN THE MOONLIGHT have been his staple, though he could be planning a drama this time round.
Either way, it’s a boost for Mrs Ryan Reynolds, who’s currently preparing to shoot ALL I SEE IS YOU for WORLD WAR Z’s Marc Forster. Meanwhile, Allen’s latest IRRATIONAL MAN – starring Joaquin Phoenix and Emma Stone – is about to premiere at Cannes. His seal of approval for Lively means we could be seeing a lot more of her on the big screen.
