It has been officially confirmed that STAR WARS EPISODE VIII, which will be written and directed by Rian Johnson, will shoot at Pinewood Studios in the UK, so reports the UK government.
George Osborne, the current British chancellor of the exchequer, tweeted the following on Monday:

The news was announced on the so-called STAR WARS day, May the 4th.

The next chapter in the saga will be released on December 18th, with Episode VIII planned for 2017. In between the two movies, British director Gareth Edwards will put together a stand alone STAR WARS movie, STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE, in December 2016. That movie is also scheduled to shoot at Pinewood later this year.
