Filmmaker Ron Howard has today begun shooting INFERNO, the third book in Dan Brown’s trilogy that started with THE DA VINCI CODE and continued with ANGELS & DEMONS.

INFERNO once again sees Tom Hanks star as Robert Langdon, who this time around, wakes up in a hospital ward in Florence with no memory of the previous few days, or the origin of the macabre object hidden in his belongings.

With a relentless female assassin trailing them through Florence, he and his resourceful doctor, Sienna Brooks, are forced to flee. Embarking on a harrowing journey, they must unravel a series of codes, which are the work of a brilliant scientist whose obsession with the end of the world is matched only by his passion for one of the most influential masterpieces ever written, Dante Alighieri’s The Inferno.

To celebrate day one of production, Howard posted a couple of pics himself and Hanks on set in Venice. Felicity Jones (not pictured), is also amongst the cast in a role which be her last before she tackles Gareth Edwards’ first movie in the STAR WARS spin-off series, STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE.
