It feels like an age since George Miller started work on a new MAD MAX movie, and despite shooting kicking off nearly three years ago, we still won’t get to see the finished film until next month. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD sees Tom Hardy lead up the cast in the title role, originally played by Mel Gibson in the 1980s, with stellar support from the likes of Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult and Zoe Kravitz.
We’ve seen some kick-ass trailers hit the web over the past few weeks, and were even treated to an extended look before showings on FAST AND THE FURIOUS 7 just a couple of weeks ago.
The finished film will premiere out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival on the 14th May, before releasing in the UK and the US on the same day.
In a post-apocalyptic wasteland, loner Max meets Furiosa, a woman who wishes to cross the desert. Captured by Immortan Joe’s gang, Max’s only hope of freedom is Furiosa, who is on the run from Immortan Joe because she stole his most precious resource, five young women who have been kept as objects and whose purpose is to mother the next generation. They need Max’s knowledge of the desert to safely cross it and escape the madness of their enemies.
Ahead of that release, we have a superb look at the many vehicles used in the movie. We grabbed them all and have posted in the featured gallery. Crazy or what?
